Project Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
• Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.
• Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations.

Qualifications & Requirements

REQUIRED

• Must be able to work 5 days onsite per week in Ontario
• Experience with React Native framework for cross-platform mobile app development (iOS and Android)
• Hands on experience with developing Mobile Apps
• Knowledge of Android SDK, iOS SDK, and platform-specific APIs
• Familiarity with native modules and bridging between React Native and native code (Objective-C/Swift or Java/Kotlin)
• Extensive experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages, user interface design

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with App Store and Google Play Store deployment processes
• Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications
• Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
• Experience with middleware and gateways
• Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging
• Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues
• Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team
• Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
• Ability to provide user and system documentation as required
• High level of knowledge around the Angular framework and JavaScript
• High level knowledge of front-end interfaces
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and good understanding of Swagger files
• Demonstrated ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components that build on the elements and modules of core React, React Native & AngularJS
• Experience creating, designing, and implementing layouts for new and existing web pages. Excellent knowledge of front-end web programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, React Native, AngularJS with ability to render server-side and client-side content
• Experience designing user interactions on websites, developing servers and databases for website functionality and coding for mobile platforms
• Fundamental knowledge of UX/UI
• Experience ensuring front end code is able to query APIs
• Experience with Java WebLogic and Java programming for web applications (Tomcat, Weblogic), EJB, Servlet
• Strong database skills and SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server)
• Experience / knowledge of REST, SOAP web services
• Experience / knowledge of Azure DevOps, JIRA, agile/scrum

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Core Skills and Experience - 40%

• 10+ years of experience as a designer and developer in the large-scale multi-client web applications
• 10+ year of hands-on working experience of Java development with Azure SQL database, Dataverse and Oracle
• 5+ years of hands-on experience of RestAPI, React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS
• Knowledge and experience of microservice architecture as well as a demonstrated ability to apply core architecture principles to enhance a product's extensibility and maintainability
• Working experience of building mobile applications for iOS and Android
• Proven experience with WCAG and AODA
• Experience with Responsive Web application development
• Experience using Azure DevOps

Technical Skills and Experience - 35%

• Knowledge of security gateways and protocols (JWT, Oauth2.0, SSL Certificates)
• Solid Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Object Oriented coding practices, including design patterns knowledge, refactoring, clean code
• Knowledge of major architectures style (message oriented, reactive, event based)
• Knowledge and experience with blockchain and smart contract development (using solidity) with good cursory knowledge with respect to the basic principles of cryptography

Soft Skills - 20%

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
