Project Overview
The TSO Branch seeks to hire two Senior Project Managers to strengthen delivery capacity and support execution of critical infrastructure and operational initiatives. These roles will manage increasing project volume, sustain operational excellence, and mitigate risks. Responsibilities include end-to-end project and release management, patching activities, stakeholder engagement, incident response, service ticket management, and driving infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of complex IT infrastructure and operational projects, overseeing full project lifecycle activities including scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
- Coordinate release planning and patching activities, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and minimal service disruption.
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders, including ministry partners, executive leadership, and technical teams, to ensure clear direction, alignment, and timely decision-making.
- Support IT operations by coordinating incident response, managing service tickets, and facilitating change management processes, including CRQs.
- Drive infrastructure initiatives and manage ITS engagement to ensure compliance with standards, processes, and governance requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project and operational risks, providing recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation and reporting, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and transparency across teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
REQUIRED
- Must be able to work 5 days onsite per week
- Minimum 8-10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in infrastructure or operations environments
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and operational priorities
- Experience with release management, patching cycles, and change management processes (e.g., CRQs)
- Experience supporting incident management and service operations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including working with senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and risks
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Public Sector experience
- Strong technical background in web applications and modern cloud infrastructure
- Experience managing a variety of products
- Experience with a variety/range of technical people
- Demonstration of a people-first approach
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
- Experience with infrastructure delivery (cloud, on-prem, or hybrid)
- Knowledge of enterprise governance and ITS engagement processes
- Awareness of emerging IT trends and technologies
EVALUATION CRITERIA
Project Management and Delivery Experience - 50%
- 8–10+ years of demonstrated experience managing complex IT projects, preferably in infrastructure and operations environments
- Proven ability to manage full project lifecycle (scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality)
- Experience coordinating releases, patching cycles, and change management (e.g., CRQs)
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments
Technical Coordination and Operations Support - 20%
- Experience supporting IT operations, including incident, change, and service management processes
- Ability to coordinate technical teams and resources to deliver complex infrastructure initiatives
- Demonstrated experience identifying and managing project and operational risks
Communication and Stakeholder Management - 25%
- Proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, executives, and technical teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reporting and documentation
- Experience facilitating decision-making and resolving conflicts across stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships
Desirable Skills - 5%
- Public sector experience
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices
- Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Awareness of emerging IT trends and technologies
