Project Overview

Support front-end development related to Vital Events by improving user interactions with digital, user-centric products and services through user-centered design and research-driven interface design.

Key Responsibilities

Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces
Design the overall functionality of the product to ensure a great user experience and iterate based on user testing
Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs
Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, translating findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

Qualifications & Requirements

REQUIRED

Must be able to work 5 days onsite per week
Design experience and expertise in developing and executing strategies that improve overall user interactions with digital, user-centric products and services, resulting in measurable enhancements and positive user feedback
Ability to lead the design of complex digital services from concept to production and maintain high user experience standards and performance measures
Demonstrated experience creating design deliverables such as mood boards, collaboration boards, empathy maps, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes
Demonstrated experience creating deliverables such as design blueprints, information architecture, presentations and reports
Solid understanding of generative and evaluative user research methods and how user research can be incorporated continuously in the digital product lifecycle
Hands-on experience creating user research plans, recruiting participants, facilitating user research, analyzing findings and delivering insights
Ability to synthesize research findings into user research documents such as user journey maps, personas, service blueprints, and affinity maps
Experience researching and applying industry best practices to support design deliverables
Ability to incorporate web analytics, visitor feedback, performance metrics and other data to inform design decisions
Ability to provide rationale for design decisions in group settings with multiple stakeholders
Experience with Figma
Experience with XDstudio
Ability to communicate designs clearly, present recommendations, and provide advice to stakeholders
Ability to collaborate with technical experts and business subject matter experts to elicit key information relevant to user experience and service design
Strong facilitation skills leading design discussions and negotiations
Experience working in agile product teams
Willingness to iterate work output based on feedback
Experience collaborating and sharing design tasks with multiple designers on complex product deliveries

Experience coding in HTML

Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance
Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role designing for web and mobile applications
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools
Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies
Experience designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience
Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions
Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features
Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces
