The Public Health I+IT Solutions Branch (PHS) develops, maintains and modernizes the I+IT solutions for Public Health and associated stakeholders. The branch manages ministry-supported public health solutions and ensures public health technology solutions are streamlined and integrate with the broader digital health sector. Ontario’s Public Health IT ecosystem supports critical functions that are essential for public health protection, disease prevention and legislative compliance, including immunization tracking, disease surveillance, and environmental health monitoring.
The solutions support the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Public Health programs to fulfill legislation and regulation including the Immunization School Pupils Act, Child Care and Early Years Act, COVID-19 Vaccination Reporting Act, Health Protection and Promotion Act and the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. These solutions support local public health agencies to provide mandatory programs under the Ontario Public Health Standards (e.g., Infectious Diseases Protocol), meet their legislative obligations and respond effectively to emerging health risks.
Resources are needed to provide specialized expertise to sustain and enhance Ontario’s Public Health IT ecosystem in order to mitigate risks of system outages, protect data integrity, and maintain legislative compliance.
NOTE
Assignment Type: This position is listed as Onsite; the resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location.
Extension/Amendment Attestation:
Extensions are permitted only to the extent of unused contract days and/or remaining contract funds. No additional funds will be added beyond the maximum contract value, including any extension options set out in the original SOW.
HSC may exercise its option to extend the SOW beyond October 5, 2027, provided that the Master Service Agreement is extended. Any such extension shall be on the same terms, conditions, and covenants as those contained in the SOW.

Full-Stack Software Developer (M-IMMS)
• Support ongoing updates to the m-IMMS User Interface (UI) based on required changes arising from issues or enhancements from users, mandatory technology upgrades, upgrades of the integration specifications, upgrades of other DHIR extensions, and testing (performance, penetration)
• Support the roadmap for m-IMMs including: consolidation of components, improvement of logging/ monitoring, improvement in maintainability and support of application by creating/updating code, unit test and prepare packages and instructions for deployment in various environments
• Maintain functionality to support PHUs through the school suspension process
• Provide ongoing support for clinicians’ ability to utilize downloaded immunization records
• Directly support clinic workflow by entering historical or administered immunizations at point of service
• Provide code changes to ensure alignment of m-IMMS tool with integrated solutions such as Panorama, PHIX
• Perform technical analysis, prepare detailed programming specifications, program design, write and/or generate code, and conduct unit tests
