RQ-2025-008799 - Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior for Provincial Clinical Viewer (PCV) Program

Project Overview

The Provincial Clinical Viewer Project will consolidate three separate clinical viewers into a single provincial viewer to reduce inefficiencies and provide a sustainable, scalable solution. The project aims to improve clinical decision-making by increasing integrated access to reliable electronic patient data across the continuum of care, standardize and simplify integrations, enable timely access to health information for patients and providers, and integrate with provincial repositories and registries.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize UI and API testing efforts, including design, development, and execution of systems integration and functional tests using end-to-end UI and API automation
• Analyze business and technical requirements, user stories, design documents, implementation guides, and data mapping documents to develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases
• Execute automated tests across multiple non-production environments for the Provincial Viewer Program and related electronic healthcare systems, registries, and repositories
• Analyze, design, build, implement, run, maintain, and enhance automation testing frameworks, automated test cases, and automation scripts for UI web pages and APIs
• Create and maintain a requirements traceability matrix covering all in-scope requirements
• Use automated toolsets to generate and validate complex test data
• Log, track, and manage defects in JIRA
• Create test execution reports
• Collaborate with QA lead, project stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support testing activities and ongoing support from a testing perspective
• Determine test environment requirements and run smoke/sanity tests to validate deployments and environment stability
• Provide inputs for testing effort estimation and for developing test strategy, test plans, and test execution reporting
• Support user acceptance testing and participate in UAT activities
• Collaborate with Development, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams on testing-related technical activities
• Perform testing within Agile-Scrum delivery and align with DevOps/CI/CD principles
• Support other QA resources on the team and champion automation best practices across programs

Qualifications & Requirements

REQUIRED

• Must be able to work 5 days onsite per week
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automation testing
• Advanced hands-on experience automating UI screens using Java and Selenium, including writing scripts from scratch and debugging complex automation code
• Advanced automated API (RESTful) / web services testing using tools such as SOAPUI, ReadyAPI, Postman, or equivalent
• Experience with ETL, SQL, and cross-browser testing
• Experience testing authentication/authorization mechanisms including certificates and SAML/JWT tokens
• Experience in Agile-Scrum delivery, including test planning and creating/executing manual and automated test cases and scripts
• Experience creating complex test data and test reports
• Experience logging, tracking, and managing defects in JIRA
• Advanced knowledge of one or more automation testing frameworks
• Experience debugging test environment and test data issues

EVALUATION CRITERIA

• Extensive hands-on experience with one or more automation testing framework to test UI screens (Web pages) and API testing by developing automation suite via writing complex codes from scratch using JAVA programming language and Selenium and then executing the automated test scripts. Experience in debugging and fixing the automation codebase into a working automation test suite. Expertise in fine tuning and enhancing automation framework to meet the needs of automation testing for the application. - 50 points
• Hands-on experience in testing API / Web services using any API testing tool such as Postman, SOAPUI, ReadyAPI or their equivalent in an automated fashion. - 25 points
• Experience in creating and executing test cases, test scripts for Functional/Systems integration testing, generating test data to validate the business requirements/User Stories/technical specifications and defect management in JIRA in an agile-scrum project delivery model. - 15 points
• Knowledge and experience with testing HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) messages and data structures. - 10 points
